JOIHF Announces First Tryout Camp In North America

Jamaican Olympic Ice Hockey Federation, also known as Jamaican Olympic Ice Hockey Team, is pleased to announce its first tryout camp in North America open to those of Jamaican and West Indies descent.

The tryout camp will scout and assess potential talent all over North America as well as any other players hailing from other countries who are of Jamaican and West Indies descent for evaluation, certification and consideration for the JOIHF Exhibition Tour of 2015.

Some of these selected Jamaican candidates could be considered for further scrutiny after the 2015 Exhibition Tour and become potential slated players to make up the Jamaican team to play in the IIHF games, a pre-cursor to potential Olympic participation. Final tryouts will be conducted the Summer 2015.

All players must report between 8 and 9:30 a.m. Saturday August 23, at Westwood Arena. The arena is located at 90 Woodbine Downs Blvd, Etobicoke, ON M9W 5S6, Canada. Two team sessions will be at 10 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Saturday. An additional session will be at 9 a.m. Sunday, August 24.

JOIHF is a 501c3 pending nonprofit registered in Colorado and Jamaica with an Associate Membership in the IIHF as of May 2012.
